BRC Winter Dressage Championship Team
We'd like to say congratulations and good luck to our Intermediate Dressage team who were lucky enough to be selected to represent Area 3 in the Winter Dressage Championships.
If any members would like to represent the club at future BRC events please get in touch with a member of the committee. Current COVID Guidelines
The BRC have just issued their new guidance which says that from the 29th March BRC competitions and training activities can resume. This is great timing as our March (online) meeting will kick start the planning of these events We still need to ensure that any event we plan is in line with the restrictions and guidelines in place at the time and the safety of our attendees and helpers will remain our priority at all times. In the meantime we will continue to host a variety of online events including meetings, shows and dressage. We hope you can join us at some of these. Online Shows
As Covid has cancelled all our events we had planned for 2020 we decided to run a series of online shows with a number of classes. Each show will have one class opened up to a public vote. We kicked off our series the series in November with 13 classes running including 3 dog classes and a class open to all pets. We had a fantastic response and loved looking through all your photo's. Our judges (and the public) had a very difficult task placing the competitors but did manage to reach a final decision. The full results are available on our results page. Our December show is now open for entries until 8pm on Sunday 27th December. A full list of classes can be found on here. Our Committee
On 16th December 2020 we held our first online AGM. It wasn't quite the same as meeting in person but at least we did get to see and speak to each other which was nice. When we hold the AGM we also vote in our new committee for the next 12 months. Unfortunately this year Helen Johnson has decided to step down as training officer. We are incredibly grateful to Helen for her commitment and dedication to this role the last few years and we are sad to see her go. Olivia Walker has decided to rejoin the committee and take up this role. We are pleased to announce the rest of the committee have decided to stand for another year. Our committee for 2021 is as follows: Chair person - Rachel Fielder, Membership Secretary - Annette Modena, Treasurer - Tracey Rust, Bridleways Officer - Diane Fowler, Welfare Officer - Amanda Lees, Training Officer - Olivia Walker, BRC Representative - Liane Robinson, Publicity Officer - Kim Oliver, General Members - Amanda Archer and Daniel Fielder. We do have the following vacancies - Junior committee members (x2). If you are interested in joining the team in any of the above roles we would love to have you. Please get in touch with us through our Facebook page, our contact request form or speak to a member of the committee. BRC Christmas Cracker Virtual Dressage Competition 2020
In November four of our members entered a team into the BRC's online dressage competition. The classes were huge and the team all got some fantastic scores. Unfortunately the team didn't place but they were up against some really tough competition and we are very proud to have had them represent our club. A massive thank you and huge well done to Helen Johnson, Kirsty Johnson, Lisa Emerson and Zena Wiggins. If any member would like to be one of our teams in any discipline please contact a member of the committee or get in touch with us through our Facebook page or our contact request form. #MYHACKATHON & Afternoon Tea
In April 2019 a team of 20 riders set out on a mission to hack a combined 2000 miles in 100 days and raise £2000 for The Brooke charity. Our determined team and trusty steed's braved heavy rain, gale force winds and heatwaves, (with some lovely calm weather in between) to ride a massive combined total of over 2300 miles. The team raised a massive £1000 but wanted to get as close as possible to the ambitious target before we close our final total and start all over again with #MYHACKATHON PMRC TEAM 2020. This led to team member Diane organising a Prosecco Afternoon Tea event. The event was a huge success and raised a massive £209 to go towards out total. Unfortunately we haven't managed to meet the £2000 target but that has just made us more determined this year. On May 2nd 2020 we will be starting again. If anyone would like to be on this year's team or want to know more about it please contact Kim Oliver on 07917154410, by email at polemoorrc@gmail.com or my messaging our Facebook page. A massive well done to all our 2019 team and supporters. Annual Show Trophies
It's never too early for us to start planning for our events and we always need our members help. One of the biggest time zappers when prepping for the annual show is making sure we have all our trophies back, polished and shined, and labelled ready to be given out again. If you won a trophy at last years annual show please help us as much as possible by ensuring it's returned to us by 31st July 2020. As we have introduced some new classes this year it's more important than ever to ensure we receive these back in plenty of time. Trophies can be returned to any member of our committee or to Tack Shack in Milnsbridge. If you need a reminder as to which trophies you signed for or you can't get to Tack Shack and need to arrange a return please email us back, message us on Facebook or text/call Kim on 07917154410. Many thanks and we hope to see you at this years show on Sunday 30th August 2020 Teams!!
We are always looking for new team members for various different events both BRC affiliated and non affiliated. Many competitions allow us to have more than one team at the same level so we often have places even when we have a full team. Many of our team members are just starting out a level or are having a go for the first time so please don't be put off if you are inexperienced. If you are interested in representing the club and would like to know more please email polemoorrc@gmail.com, message our Facebook page or have a chat with any member of the committee. The Brooke #MyHackathon
Brooke is an international animal welfare charity dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules. Operating in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, they reach over two million working horses, donkeys and mules. This year PMRC are joining #MYHackathon as a team not only in the hope we raise more funds than we would as individuals but also to support each other. The aim is simple each team member aims to ride 100 miles in 100 days and collectively as a group through our just giving page we aim to raise £100 for each team member. We started our challenge on 27th April 2019 and will be completing on 4th August 2019 where we will aim to ride collectively as a group by way of celebration. Our team of 20 riders are partway through the challenge to collectively ride 2000 miles and raise £2000. Please support us either by sponsoring us using our just giving page or by fundraising to help us achieve our massive target. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/pole-moor-riding-club For further details on the challenge and the work The Brooke do please see their web page https://www.thebrooke.org/get-involved/fundraise/find-an-event/myhackathon |

Cook for The Brooke
On September 7th we cooked and quizzed to raise money for The Brooke. We had a wonderful evening with dishes ranging from pasta carbonara to beef rogan josh, vegan chilli to spaghetti bolognese along with other dishes. All finished with a variety of deserts and a chocolate fountain. Many thanks to all our cookers and to Rob for yet again providing the entertainment, this time in the form of a general knowledge quiz. We are delighted to announce we raised nearly £140.
Venues!!!
We're always on the lookout for new venues – particularly as the ground seems to have been getting wetter and wetter over the last year or two. If you can offer a field or arena for an event please get in touch.
BRC Show Jumping July 2018
On July 14th Olivia Walker and her pony Bryony took the trip to Bold Heath Equestrian Centre in Warrington along with 3 of our helpers, Rachel, Annette and Lydia.
Olivia competed as an individual representing our club and finished in a fantastic 4th place overall missing out on top spot by just 3 seconds after 2 very gritty clear rounds.
On behalf of the club we would like to see a massive congratulations to Olivia and Bryony and a big big thank you to our helpers. Without helpers we cannot compete so well done and thank you guys.

Dial Wood
This year Dial Wood celebrated their 20th anniversary. To help raise funds we decided to donate all entry fees received from the novelty classes at this years annual show. We are delighted to announce that we have raised in excess £265 which includes additional donations from our wonderful stall holders. We will be issuing a cheque shortly.
Volunteer Reward Scheme. New for 2018!!!!
As we all know none of our events could run without the help from our members and supporters. Therefore this year we will be introducing a volunteer rewards scheme to thank our loyal helpers and give them something back.
We are currently finalising the details and will update as soon as these have been decided.
In the meantime if you would like to get more involved and help at our events please speak to a member of the committee. It doesn't matter whether you can spare an hour or a day all help is appreciated and you don't need any experience to get involved.
